Mayo’s Ger Cafferkey has announced his retirement from intercounty football.
The Ballina Stephenites guy played with the Connacht county for 11 decades, making his tournament debut out to New York in 2009.
He became a vital member of the negative, shoring up the defence from fullback.
During his career, he picked up an All-Star award in 2012, and won six Connacht Championship medals.
He becomes the Mayo participant to retire in the wake of this defeat to Dublin, following the conclusion of Andy Moran.
