Mayo’s Ger Cafferkey has declared his retirement from intercounty football.
The Ballina Stephenites man played the Connacht county for 11 years, making his tournament debut out to New York in 2009.
He became a vital member of the street, shoring up the defence from fullback.
Through his career, he picked an literary award in 2012, and won six Connacht Championship awards.
He becomes the Mayo player to retire in the aftermath of this All-Ireland semi-final conquer following the conclusion of Andy Moran, to Dublin.
